General Information:

Internships are typically done during the summer between the first and second year of the program, but the timing can be adjusted as needed. The internship program is designed to build your professional network and develop the skills needed to prepare for your long-term career goals.

To document that your experiential learning opportunities meet the intent of the internship requirement, the following process is required:

1 - Internship Plan
  • This plan is due after the internship is identified and at least a month before starting the internship

2 - Internship Reflections
  • These are written and due after every 40 hours of internship and should be submitted to the instructor (i.e., MA Program Director) at that time. Instructions for the reflections can be found in the internship guidelines.

3 - Internship Evaluation
  • Internship supervisors are asked to rate the internship experience at the end of the internship. Students initiate the form which is then routed to the supervisor. The internship milestone is completed in Banner when the evaluation form is on file in the student's education record.
