Non-Structural
Non-structural living shoreline methods include enhancements and slope changes to increase the amount of vegetative stabilization. The most suitable sites for non-structural methods have only minor erosion problems, low wave action and few boat wakes. Target areas include the upper reaches of tidal creeks, tidal coves, and other areas protected from excessive wind and wave action or stormwater runoff.
